Varandur´s lake is among the largest élladian lakes. The lake is located in the south-east of the Back Ottwara. Its south shore is bordered by the Wood of the forestmen, on the east the lake washs the foothill of Dankrad. According to the legends one of Varandur´s smithies was on the shore of this lake and it is said that right here was in dragon breath forged Hrútvang - the sword of the Lord of the Dragons.
